Developed in 1948, the IS-7 heavy tank was weighed 68-tons, was heavily armored and included a 130mm S-70 gun. It incorporated an automatic loader which achieved up to 8 rounds per minute, stabilizers, infrared night scopes, eight machine guns and armor from 220 to 300mm thickness. It was the largest and heaviest tank ever tested by the USSR. Although it was an innovative design, it was never accepted for mass production due to its cumbersome size and the very impractical layout of its fighting compartment. Kit consists of over 390 parts including photo-etched details.
